Under this scheme, A financial assistance of 2 Lac is provided to the nominee in case of natural and 4 lac on the accidental death of a registered worker

MUHAFIZ SCHEME JAMMU KASHMIR

Jammu and Kashmir government launched Muhafiz scheme for welfare of workers in unorganized sector such as building and construction. These workers are one of the most vulnerable segments of the unorganized labour in India. This scheme will provide social-economic security to these workers. This scheme provides accidental, life and disability insurance coverage after getting registered with JKBOCWWB.

Regulate the employment and conditions of service and to provide safety, health and welfare measures for the building and other construction workers.

Make payment of Pension to the beneficiaries who have completed the age of sixty years.

BENEFITS OF MUHAFIZ SCHEME

In case of Natural Death of Registered building and construction worker:

A financial assistance of Rs. 2, 00,000/- is paid to nominee registered construction worker.

In case of Accidental Death of Registered building and construction worker:

An amount of Rs. 4, 00,000/- is paid to his/her nominee/Dependents in case of accidental death of registered building and construction worker.

In case of partial or permanent Disablement of Registered building and construction worker:

An amount of Rs. 10, 000/- is paid to registered building and construction worker.

An amount of Rs. 1,200/- per annum per children up-to 02 children is paid as education assistance for children of registered building and construction workers for class 9^th to 12^th through National Scholarship Portal

Micro finance facility of Rs. 10,000/- along with specially designed credit cum smart identity card

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

AGE LIMIT

Minimum: 18 years.

Maximum: 60 years.

Applicant should be engaged in building or any other construction work for not less than 90 days during previous 12 months.

Applicant needs to renew their Registration annually.

§  Sprayman or mixerman (road surfacing).

§  Wooden or Stone packer.

§  Well diver for removing silt.

§  Hammer man.

§  Thatcher.

§  Mistry.

§  Blacksmith.

§  Sawer.

§  Caulker.

§  Mixer (including concrete mixer operator).

§  Pump operator.

§  Mixer driver.

§  Roller driver.

§  Khalasi or sarang engaged in heavy engineering construction like heavy machinery, bridge work, etc.

§  Watchman at construction sites.

§  Mosaic polisher.

§  Tunnel worker.

§  Marble/ Kadappa stone worker.

§  Rock breaker and quarry worker.

§  Road worker.

§  Earth worker connected with construction work.

§  Workers engaged in processing lime.

§  Workers engaged in erosion work.

§  Any other category of workers actually engaged in construction or maintenance of dams, bridges or in building operations.

§  Brick Manufacture, other than the Brick Manufacture under the Factories Act, 1948.
