Social welfare department Jammu
and Kashmir is established to safeguard the interests of poor and downtrodden
sections of society i.e. people living below poverty line and people belonging
to backward classes such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC),
Physically Challenged Persons (PCP), Economically Backward Classes (EBC)
and De notified Tribes (DNT).
Social welfare department
launched numerous schemes for welfare of poor and distressed. One of them is “Hunnar” . The details of this scheme are as below:
“Hunnar” is a module of skill Development meant for those identified
poor girls of the State living below the poverty line, who may not find
themselves in a position to earn dignified livelihood.
This
is not a new scheme but an effort to bring all such schemes launched by
different Govt. Departments under one umbrella which have training and skill
development component
Eligibility Criteria
Applicant
should be an identified poor girl in the survey lists already available with the
concerned DDCs / District Social
Welfare Offices.
Applicant must have
completed 18 years of age.
Applicant should not be
a school going girl.

The
Social Welfare Department, J&K shall be the nodal department for implementation
and monitoring of the scheme. The District Social Welfare Officers, with
in their respective jurisdictions shall distribute “Intend Forms” and
also shall consolidate the list in order of preference of the trade and forward
the same to the Social Welfare Board, who in turn will forward the list to the
concerned Training Imparting
agencies/department
