HIMAYAT
Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute is a government organization established in March 1997. The aim of JKEDI is to encourage and
develop entrepreneurship among youth. JKEDI provides entrepreneurship training
to youth and assist them in acquiring the required finance through various
schemes such as:

HIMAYAT
is a skill development programme launched by the government of India and
implemented by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurs Development Institute(JKEDI) to
address the problem of unemployment and to encourage entrepreneurship among the
youth of Jammu and Kashmir. This scheme aims to provide self-employment to the
youth of Jammu and Kashmir by providing them with appropriate training and finance
to set up new startups for not even their own livelihood but to generate
employment for others. The scheme aims to train around 10,000 youth in 3.5
years and provide finance to at least 50% of candidates trained by them for
their new startup. The salient features of his scheme are as under:
Jammu Kashmir Entrepreneurship
Development Institute provides eighteen days training under Himayat scheme in
two categories and candidates can choose as per their interest and
qualification:
For Agro Allied Sector and
For Manufacturing/Services/Handicrafts.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Candidate must be a resident of Jammu And Kashmir State only.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: minimum 8th standard pass.
AGE LIMIT: Minimum:
18 years.
Maximum:
35 years.
