AASRA WELFARE SCHEME

Social welfare department Jammu and Kashmir is established to safeguard the interests of poor and downtrodden sections of society such as people living below the poverty line and people belonging to backward classes

• Scheduled Caste (SC),
• Other Backward Classes (OBC),
• Physically Challenged Persons (PCP),
• Economically Backward Classes (EBC) and
• De-notified Tribes (DNT). 

Social welfare department launched numerous schemes for the are of poor and distressed. One of them is AASRA scheme. This scheme is meant for providing social security cover to widows, destitute, BPL families and bread earners of such families details of this Scheme are as below:
Under this scheme, the state government would pay would or reimburse premium for the below said insurance schemes started by prime minister Sh. Narendra Modi.

• Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana
• Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Beema Yojana

Eligibility Criteria:

• The beneficiary should be in the age group of 18 to 70 years and having a Saving Bank account.
•  A premium of the policy is Rs. 12/- per annum.
• The premium will be auto-debited by the Bank from the subscriber's account.
• Aadhar card is mandatory

Risk Coverage:

• For accidental death and full disability- Rs. 02.00 Lac
•  For partial disability - Rs. 01.00 Lac.
• The Scheme will be offered by almost all Public Sector Banks, General Insurance Companies and all other insurers who are willing to join the scheme.

Jeevan Jyoti Beema Yojana (PMJJBY):

Eligibility Criteria:

•  The beneficiary should be in the age group of 18 to 50 yrs.
• Must have a bank account and aadhar card.
• The Maximum entry age in Jeevan Jyoti beema is 50 years but the risk cover is provided to up to the age of 55 yrs subject to payment of premium.
• Annual premium- Rs. 333/-.
• The payment of premium will be directly auto-debited by the bank from the subscribers' account.

Risk coverage:

Risk coverage under this scheme is for Rs. 2 Lakh in case of death of the insured, due to any reason
